National Information Society Agency (NIA) hosted a Global e-Government Leadership Program from April 18 - April 22, 2011) which is part of the Korea IT Learning Program (KoIL).

The Global e-Government Leadership Program invited 13 participants from 10 different countries that included; Peru, Albania, Chad, Vietnam, Uganda, Zambia, Ecuador, Mozambique, Mongolia and Thailand. They had several lectures over the course of the 5 days.

 

Participants took part in a welcoming reception at Millennium Hilton Hotel where NIA President, Seang-Tae Kim welcomed the guests. Then they took part in some lectures that covered a wide range of topics such as Korea e-Government Policy, Best Practices, Public-Private-Partnership e-Government Cooperation, E-Government Strategy, and Public Informatization HR Development Strategy.

The participants also had an opportunity to make a couple on-site visits that included visits to, Civil Service Center of Gangnam, Information Network Village (INVIL), Public Procurement Service Office and finally the National Computing and Information Agency in Daejeon.

The participants actively were involved in the lectures and visits and even had a chance to not only learn about Korea¡¯s e-government experience but also a chance to learn from each other as they prepared presentations and talks on their own respective countries e-government situation in order to promote international cooperation between participants¡¯ countries and Korea.

On the last day of the Program, the participants attended a program graduation ceremony and luncheon where closing remarks were made as all members were thanked for their participation and the program would serve (like KoIL programs before) as a stepping stone to cooperation efforts between their countries and Korea in the future.
